AMC Marlin (1966) Also known as: Series 50. The Marlin was a midsize sport fastback luxury sedan. Introduced in January of 1965, it featured a 4 bbl 327 cubic-inch V8 matted to a four-speed manual transmission and sat atop a 118-inch wheelbase.
AMC's 1967 Marlin, in my opinion, has a "retro" while at the same time a "classic" or timeless automobile design. It was unique when new and continues to be attractive to this day. The Marlin for 1967 recalls the style of the finest pre-World War II cars, yet it is both aerodynamic and still contemporary.
Remember the Marlin, AMC's answer to the Mustang? Don't be embarrassed if you don't. It's not exactly at the forefront of modern collector-car consciousness.
